After an extended six-year term, Robert Ashworth is stepping down as Regional Managing Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. The firm has now appointed a successor for the Asia region.

As of this month, the role will be assumed by Georgia Dawson, a partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice. Ashworth will now join the leadership of the firm’s International M&A Group as co-head global M&A.

Dawson has been with Freshfields for 13 years and has a strong market profile and reputation in the disputes space, working on many high-profile cross-border disputes and contentious regulatory matters.

Singapore and Hong Kong

Her work also extends to the community and pro bono spaces and she has a long-standing interest in supporting diversity initiatives in the firm and community more generally.

As Regional Managing Partner, Georgia will continue to split her time between Hong Kong and Singapore, enabling her to focus on growing the firm’s business across Asia.
