Northern Trust established its second office in Australia following its acquisition of Aviate Global last year.
In her new role, effective 1 June 2017, Sally Surgeon will be responsible for all aspects of Northern Trust’s (NT) Sydney office, including supporting various industry, client and consultant relationships in the city.
Surgeon, (pictured) who has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, joined NT in 2005, in London, before moving to the firms Melbourne office in 2007.
She will continue to report directly to Madeleine Senior, head of the Australasia region at NT and will retain her responsibilities as head of client services for Australasia.

The Asia-Pacific region is the fastest growing business area for the firm. Last year NT appointed of a new head of its Global Fund Services business in Asia.
Caroline Higgins took up the Hong Kong based role she joined from Brown Brothers Harriman in Hong Kong where she was head of transfer agency for Asia.
