Credit Suisse's annual invite-only investor event in Hong Kong will no longer go ahead over fears of the spreading coronavirus.

«In view of the continued health and safety risks caused by the coronavirus, we have taken the decision to cancel this year's Asian Investment Conference,» a spokesperson said in an email on Tuesday about the event to be held on March 25–27, «Bloomberg» reported.

According to the publication, this cancellation is the biggest in Hong Kong's financial industry since the outbreak of the virus.

Hong Kong schools are closed until March 3, and many banks have in place travel and work restrictions as locally transmitted coronavirus cases rise – there are 18 cases currently, with four locally transmitted.
