The Credit Suisse 7th China A-Shares Conference takes place online from May 11-13 this year. This event provides a platform for investors to explore the emerging trends in the world’s second-largest stock market.
Over 60 leading A-share listed companies are participating this year, with a total market capitalization of over RMB 6.36 trillion ($897 billion), from 19 sectors including technology, healthcare, consumer discretionary, industrials and autos, Credit Suisse announced in a media release on Monday.
The Credit Suisse China A-Shares Conference includes a series of China Expert Perspective webinars, which will offer insights into the major trends and the broad economic landscape and growth prospects in China amid the coronavirus pandemic. The speaker line-up features leading external experts – notably prominent political analyst Cheng Li, who will discuss the future of China-US relations, and influential economist Yongding Yu, who will examine the prospects for China’s economic growth – as well as Credit Suisse’s own thought leaders.
Despite the pandemic, China remains a popular listing venue, with the Shanghai and Shenzhen Exchanges raising more than USD 11bn in the first quarter of this year.

The Credit Suisse China A-Shares Conference comes at a key point not only in the development of China’s domestic capital markets but also in Credit Suisse’s own expansion in China.
Last month, the bank received approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) to become a majority shareholder in its securities joint venture, Credit Suisse Founder Securities Limited (CSFS), which will enable the bank to strengthen its presence and capabilities in onshore China as well as to expand its leading position in Greater China and the Asia Pacific region.
