The life insurer headquartered in Japan aims to drive strategic growth with three new appointments to its C-suite in Singapore.
Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore (TMLS) has appointed three senior executives to its team: Edwin Peh, chief financial officer; Esmond Chan, chief operations officer; and Goh Kay Yiong, chief investment officer, while giving chief risk officer Philip Woo additional responsibility for regulatory and compliance functions, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Peh will lead the company's finance, investment, legal and company secretariat functions, while Chan (pictured above) will oversee its insurance operations, including underwriting and claims, policy servicing and customer servicing, distribution operations and information technology, whilst Goh will oversee the management of its investment assets and portfolio.
The appointments are part of TMLS's «continuing endeavor to strengthen its overall leadership and management bench strength to attain the company's ambition for a more sustainable growth intent,» Christopher Teo, TMLS chief executive officer, said about the appointments.
Industry Stalwarts
Peh brings more than 25 years of experience in the life insurance industry and joins TMLS from HSBC Life, China, where he was chief customer officer and deputy general manager. He was previously chief financial officer at Prudential Singapore, and chief financial officer at Manulife-Sinochem in China.
Chan joined the company in August 2019 as head of insurance operations. He previously spent 27 years at NTUC Income and held leadership roles in compliance, life and health insurance operations, distribution middle office, corporate planning and information technology.
Goh Kay Yiong, Chief Investment Officer, Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore
Goh (pictured above) joined the company in 2017 as head of investment. In his 17 years in the financial services industry, he has held roles in equity analysis, fund management and investment product management/advisory. He previously worked at Tokio Marine Asset Management International, Citibank and Bank of Singapore.
