Private Credit Specialist Opens Australia Office
Chicago-headquartered private credit specialist Monroe Capital has opened a new office in Australia and hired a business development director in the country.
Monroe Capital has expanded its platform to Australia with a new office in Sydney, according to a statement. It has also hired Galen Fu as director, business development for the office, tasked with client servicing and capital raising across Australia.
Fu has more than 14 years of experience in capital raising, portfolio management and banking in Asia Pacific. Prior to Monroe, he was a director in the capital markets team at Hines Investment Management where he was responsible for business development and investor relations across Australia. Previously, he also worked at MaxCap Investment Management (a subsidiary of Apollo Global Management), Westpac Bank and ANZ Bank.
Limited Partners
According to Monroe Capital president Zia Uddin, the firm has had several long-standing limited partners in Australia and will now look to continue «strategic growth and expansion» in the country.
«In recent years, Australian investors have shown increased interest and appreciation for the Monroe platform and the private credit asset class. We have a tremendous opportunity to expand our footprint in this significant market,» he added.
