The firm is expanding its private banking business down under with the addition of a trio of relationship managers to support its strong growth and momentum this year.

Credit Suisse has recruited three new relationship managers to its team in Australia: Anne-Laure Alia and Jason Winderbaum in Sydney, and Loughlin MacGowan in Melbourne, according to a memo shared with finews.asia.

Alia, who settled in Australia five years ago, brings more than 10 years’ experience in private banking as a relationship manager at Rothschild in Paris. Winderbaum brings 15 years of experience in private wealth, sales, marketing, fintech and investment distribution functions. He was most recently head of sales/executive director of Paradigm Invest Group, and previously regional head for Sanlam Investment Solutions.

MacGowan will relocate to Melbourne from the U.K., where he was Julius Baer's head of advisory solutions in the country since 2015. He previously led UBS Advisory in the U.K. after beginning his career with UBS Wealth Management in Melbourne.

Global Growth

Despite a challenging market, Credit Suisse has continued to attract new clients to its global platform, evidenced by growth in AUM, transaction volume and NNA in 2020, it said in the note.

«Clients are looking for advice and experience that includes global solutions and opportunities and our new relationship managers bring that depth of international experience to complement the existing expertise in our business,» Michael Marr, market group head for Australia, Credit Suisse Private Banking Asia Pacific.
