Paris-based BNP Paribas will enter Thailand’s onshore wealth management market with the launch of a new unit.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management launches its onshore business in Thailand, according to a statement.

The new wealth management entity will provide client access to international capital markets through the bank’s platform in Singapore while being serviced in the country by a team of experienced relationship managers. 

«BNP Paribas has been banking with entrepreneurs and families in Thailand since 1979,» said Arnaud Tellier, Asia CEO at BNP Paribas Wealth Management. «[W]e are now able to offer a comprehensive array of solutions that allow us to better serve high net worth individuals and their families in Thailand.»

Leading the unit is Daniel Peter as CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management Thailand, subject to regulatory approvals. Based in Bangkok, Peter will lead the onshore team to deliver wealth management services to clients.

Peter has extensive experience in the Southeast Asia private banking industry and prior to joining BNP Paribas, he was team leader of wealth management Thailand at Credit Suisse.
