Following the takeover of Credit Suisse, UBS saw attendance at its technology CEO summit in Asia grow larger.

The «UBS Disruptive Technology CEO Summit 2024» was hosted on November 20 at Regent Hong Kong. The event featured 21 speakers from 12 countries and regions, including Professor Michael Spence, Nobel Laureate in economic science in 2001. Amongst the topics covered were AI, machine learning, robotics, and health tech. UBS APAC president Iqbal Khan was also present as a co-host.

«This year marks the 10th anniversary of UBS Disruptive Technology CEO Summit (DTS). With this year’s theme being 'A Decade in Innovation: The Next Chapter', it captures a pivotal moment in our journey in DTS. We reflect on the past decade, where we’ve seen technologies evolve from theoretical concepts to being integral parts of our daily lives,» said UBS Global Wealth Management Asia chair Amy Lo in her opening remarks.

«We also turn our gaze forward to the 'Next Chapter', where we are eager to explore the innovations and breakthroughs that lie ahead. UBS CIO anticipates that AI will be the tech theme of the decade. There are three times more AI opportunities in the venture capital space than a decade ago.»

Expanded Attendance

According to Lo, UBS’ integration with Credit Suisse has enabled a larger audience to the event with over 1,000 participants at DTS including entrepreneurs, family offices, C-suite executives, ultra high net worth individuals, venture capital and private equity firms as well as sovereign wealth funds.

This compares to the nearly 800 attendees at the ninth edition of DTS last year.
