London-based HSBC has hosted its first-ever private markets event for wealthy clients in Hong Kong.

HSBC hosted its inaugural «Private Markets Conference» in Hong Kong on November 20 for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients, according to a statement. The event featured external speakers such as KKR co-CEO Joseph Bae, PAG co-founder and CEO Chris Gradel as well as Brookfield Corporation president and chief financial officer Nicholas Goodman

«Incorporating private markets into an investment portfolio enhances the risk-return profile through diversification, especially during times of market volatility and inflationary concerns,» commented Lok Yim, regional head of global private banking, Asia Pacific, HSBC.

«Our global scale and connectivity with HSBC Alternatives (an alternatives team at HSBC Asset Management), coupled with the depth and breadth of our extensive relationships are key enablers for us to provide clients access to best-in-class investment managers and exclusive opportunities.»
