Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privée has named a new Group Chief Risk Officer. He will assume his new role in mid-January and join the bank’s Executive Committee.

Raoul Jacot-Descombes has been with the Geneva-based private bank Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) since 2015, serving as Head of Risk & Compliance. Earlier this year, he took on the role of Deputy Director General at the Fédération des Entreprises Romandes (FER Genève).

However, he has stepped down from this position to return to his operational role at UBP, as announced in a statement on Thursday evening..

Overseeing All Risk Areas

In his new capacity, Jacot-Descombes will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s entire risk management framework, including operational, liquidity, market, and counterparty risks.

His return to UBP coincides with a surprising leadership change at FER Genève. According to Swiss daily «Le Temps», the organization’s chairman, Philippe Fleury, resigned after only 18 months due to disagreements over the association’s future direction.
