A former top Credit Suisse executive-turned-luxury blogger is expanding into premium fitness. She has also quietly joined another wealth manager.
Pamela Thomas-Graham, part of the Swiss bank's top management until 2016, is joining the board of Peloton, a luxury fitness brand which sells $2,000 home stationary bikes.
Since leaving the bank following CEO Tidjane Thiam's restructuring, Thomas-Graham has started luxury blog «Dandelion Chandelier,» drawing on her experience as a high-powered New York fashion and media executive.
Founding a Blog
The first African-American woman to be make partner at consulting firm McKinsey, Thomas-Graham has also published three suspense novels. Since founding the blog, where she set out to explore the «intersection of luxury, marketing and technology», she has written about exclusive travel as well as so-called «micro-luxuries» for everyday.
Fitness has always had a prominent place on the blog for Thomas-Graham, a sports enthusiast. Her travel posts often feature sports such as skiing prominently, alongside more traditional luxury experiences like food and shopping.
Bermuda Wealth Manager
In January, she wrote – largely favorably – about Peloton's attempt to be known as «the Apple of fitness», while noting wryly that «we think that perhaps Apple intends to be the Apple of fitness».
«Her extensive experience across a variety of consumer businesses – from finance to beauty to media – will help us immensely as we continue to innovate and grow», Peloton CEO and co-founder John Foley said in a statement.
Thomas-Graham also joined the board of N.T. Butterfield & Sons Bank, a Bermuda-based wealth manager, late last year. Before joining Credit Suisse, she ran U.S. fashion brand Liz Claiborne as well as U.S. finance broadcaster CNBC.
