The world’s largest furniture chain has teamed up with Swiss Re for its latest product launch: home insurance. So far, the offering is available in two countries only.
The Swedish giant furniture chain Ikea is launching a home insurance product together with Swiss Re, or more precisely, with the Swiss insurer’s online platform Iptiq, the insurer said in a statement.
The product line has been dubbed «Hemsäker», which is a combination of the Swedish words for «home» and «secure». The insurance is a fully digital offering and can be bought in a matter of minutes, according to the two companies.
Matter of Minutes
Ikea and Swiss Re initially introduced the product in Switzerland and Singapore only. It can be purchased online via the Ikea website in a matter of minutes and was created to extend home insurance to more people.
«Hemsäker» is embedded in Ikea’s offering, while Iptiq provides the insurance proposition and is responsible for managing all related customer touchpoints.
Damage Claims
Clients will file their report of damage claims via the Iptiq platform of Swiss Re. Iptiq is a provider of white-label solutions for damage and accident as well as life and medical insurance policies available for companies such as Ikea.
