finews.ch, the leading Swiss financial news website, has agreed to buy the Asian Wealth Times (AWT) in a bid to extend its successful product into Asia.
finews.ch, often referred to as the intranet of the Swiss banking community, was established in 2008 by Claude Baumann and Peter Bohnenblust, journalists with extensive experience in covering the banking industry in Switzerland, together with Michael Sicker, an ingenious web designer who spent his working life developing online services for Swiss media outlets.
finews.ch receives more than 1.1 million page impressions per month, testimony to its track record for in depth coverage and breaking news about the Swiss financial services industry.
Like finews.ch, finews.asia will offer free access to all readers. The two sister sites are unique platforms for advertisers, reaching several hundred thousand viewers with above-average incomes in the financial services industries.
Finews.Asia Pte. Ltd. is based in Singapore. AWT-founder Tom King will be in charge of the day-to-day running of finews.asia. The Asian site will share content with finews.ch and several editors will contribute to the new service.
The new site will go live January 1, 2016.
