A long-tenured journalist is to head the editorial teams of finews.ch and finews.com. His media and strategic expertise will be invaluable in helping to further develop the leading financial news and information website in Switzerland.
On March 1, Dominik Buholzer will become the editor-in-chief and a member of management of the German language news website finews.ch, including its sister site finews.com. He succeeds Samuel Gerber who had assumed the role on an interim basis and will now voluntarily resume his previous role as deputy chief editor.
Buholzer is a communications specialist with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He started his career in journalism with the «Luzerner Zeitung» in 1995, based in Uri. In 1998, the formally trained educator became the editorial head of the «Neuen Nidwaldner Zeitung».
In 2006, he switched to become editor-in-chief of the Swiss affairs section at «Luzerner Zeitung» while in 2007 he led the news desk and became a member of the editorial management team. Between 2012 and 2018, Buholzer was deputy editor-in-chief of the «Zentralschweiz am Sonntag».
Insurance Communications
In November 2018, Buholzer joined Zurich Insurance's Swiss business, working in the corporate communications department. His main areas of responsibility were related to internal and external communications. Besides that, he managed video productions for internal and external distribution channels and was heavily involved in enhancing the insurer's live-stream broadcast capabilities.

finews.ch started publishing in the autumn of 2008 and has since developed into one of the leading Swiss finance portals for banking and insurance sector employees. finews.com was subsequently launched in English in 2015, followed by finews.asia in Singapore a year later. In the meantime, the business also has an office in Hong Kong.
Starting at the end of 2021, finewsticino.ch has been publishing Italian-language financial news information for and from Ticino and Italy's financial center in Milan.
