Global investment manager Principal Global Investors has appointed a former Director from the Monetary Authority of Singapore into a senior Singapore based role.
In a press release the asset manager said Celestine Khoo had been hired as Managing Director, Head of Southeast Asia. Khoo will be based in the Principal Global Investors Singapore office and will be responsible for operations in Southeast Asia. She will report to Kirk West, Chief Executive for Asia of Principal Global Investors.
The new appointment is a strategic initiative for Principal Global Investors to meet the growing business demands in the Southeast Asian region. As part of the global management team, she will help develop and implement growth initiatives in the region.
Southeast Asian Expansion
Prior to joining Principal Global Investors, Celestine Khoo was Director and Head, External Fund Management, Reserve Management at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Before that, she held senior investment banking roles at UBS and DBS Bank.

Celestine has extensive experience and knowledge in fund management, central banks, and sell-side institutions in the region, she will be a strong addition to our team,» said Kirk West.
Khoo qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. She earned an M.B.A. (Distinction) from the Cass Business School, London and a Bachelor of Accountancy (First Class Honors) from the National University of Singapore.
