Switzerland remains one of the world’s most attractive destinations for globally active high net worth entrepreneurs. This is according to a survey conducted by HSBC among its wealth management clients.
Switzerland ranks highly as a preferred destination for HSBC's wealthy clients when considering moving their assets partly or entirely abroad or even relocating permanently. The country continues to be one of the world’s most attractive locations for international mobility and opportunities. Additionally, Singapore, the US and the UK were frequently mentioned as potential destinations.
This year's «Global Entrepreneurial Wealth Report» by HSBC is based on a survey of 1,798 wealthy business owners with investable assets of at least $2 million, also known as high net worth individuals (HNWI). Of these HNWIs, 583 belonged to the category of ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) with more than $100 million in assets. Among the 166 Swiss participants, the distribution was nearly even.
Plans for Relocation
According to the findings, 11 percent of respondents from the United Arab Emirates are considering relocating assets to Switzerland. The proportion considering emigrating from the UAE to Switzerland is 9 percent. In Hong Kong, 8 percent of respondents are contemplating moving assets to Switzerland, while 7 percent are considering Singapore or the USA as destinations.
«This extensive study shows that Switzerland remains one of the most attractive places in the world to live and work,» said Gabriel Castello, CEO of HSBC Global Private Banking Switzerland.
The study was conducted by the British company Ipsos in France, Hong Kong, India, China, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the USA.
