After sixteen years the co-head of Credit Suisse's emerging markets financing group for Asia Pacific, is leaving the bank.
Ali Abbas Alam (pictured left) resigned from the Swiss lender on Monday to pursue other interests and is on gardening leave until mid-July financial news agency «Reuters» has reported. He had worked with the Swiss bank since 2000 and was also a member of Credit Suisse’s APAC fixed income management committee. He was based in Singapore. He played a key role in prominent debt financings across Asia for the Swiss lender and was said to be a key figure in origination and structuring major loans in Indonesia, China and India.
Internal Realignment
Prior to joining Credit Suisse Alam worked for Citi for three years. Under the leadership of Carsten Stoehr, who rejoined in January as head of financing for Asia Pacific, the Zurich headquartered bank is calibrating the Asian financing operations, amalgamating corporate and private banking teams.
