The top 50 richest people in Malaysia have a combined estimated net-worth of more than $62.6 billion.
Robert Kuok, who owns diversified businesses including Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts chain, top the list with an estimated net-worth of $10 Billion, according to the latest 2016 report by US magazine «Forbes».
Ananda Krishnan is second on the list with $7.4 billion, with key holdings in telecommunication businesses such as Maxis and Astro.
Quek Leng Chan is third on the list with $5.3 billion, who co-founded Hong Leong Group Malaysia.
Teh Hong Piow who built Public Bank and Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng, IOI Group, rounded up the top 5 richest people in Malaysia with $4.65 billion and $4.6 billion respectively.
The Average Age of the richest in Malaysia is 67 year. The oldest billionaire is 93 Years old, It is Chang Yun Chung, founder of Pacific International Lines, with $1.65 billion. The youngest billionaire is 34 years old. It is Chong Chew Yew of Selangor Properties.
