As Benjamin Cavalli has taken additional responsibilities within Credit Suisse, the bank has appointed a new CEO for the Symasia Foundation, finews.asia can reveal. 

Young Jin Yee (pictured above), Market Group Head for Singapore, Private Banking Asia Pacific, has taken on the additional responsibility of CEO, Symasia Foundation (Symasia), as of Feb 1, 2017.

According to further information that finews.asia has seen, Jin Yee takes over from Benjamin Cavalli (pictured below), Singapore CEO, Head of Private Banking Southeast Asia, and Head of Singapore Location for Private Banking.

Cavalli served as CEO, Symasia Foundation, since 2014 and after seeing the foundation through a period of substantial growth, he has decided to step down to focus on his additional responsibilities as Singapore CEO, effective January 1, 2017.

20 Years Experience

Jin Yee oversees Credit Suisse’s private banking relationship management team in the Singapore market, and is responsible for the development and growth of the bank’s Singapore domestic franchise.

She has 20 years’ experience in wealth management, covering major Asian markets such as Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore.

Passionate About Education

In addition, Jin Yee has also been the Chairwoman of the Credit Suisse Singapore Women’s Network since 2016, where she oversees initiatives that encourage women to embrace leadership roles and career opportunities. In philanthropy, Jin Yee is passionate about causes which are related to education and autism in children, and is an active volunteer in these areas.

Symasia was first launched in 2010 as an independently registered non-profit organization in Singapore with approved Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status. The foundation provides clients in Asia the opportunity to establish their personal or corporate foundations under the Symasia platform, as an alternative to setting up their own charitable foundations, while receiving support from Symasia in administration and grant execution.

Distinguished Board

Symasia is overseen by a distinguished Board of Directors who have substantial experience in community services in Singapore and the region, including Professor Tommy Koh, Willie Cheng, Lito Camacho, Kay Kuok, Zulkifli Bin Baharudin and Jerry Ng.

Since inception to date, over $80 million has been received into over 30 client foundations under Symasia’s care, of which about $40 million has been donated to over 300 charitable organizations.
