Speculation that high-profile banker Ravi Raju is leaving UBS and that gathered momentum overnight in banking circles is inaccurate.
Private banking circles in Asia are abuzz with speculation that UBS' high-profile Head of UHNW business, Ravi Raju had resigned from the bank.
Despite a flurry of queries to this publication from headhunters, bankers and rival banks, persons close to the matter at the bank have denied the developments and reiterated off-the-record that he is still with the bank.
Recent Management Changes
Raju has been at the centre of much discussion because of recent management changes at the Swiss lender that divied up regional leadership between Amy Lo and August Hatecke.
Swiss private banks in particular, have been courting Raju for regional leadership roles, according to a Hong Kong-based head hunter in the know.
Most Prominent Candidate
In a previous article, finews.asia had identified him as the most prominent of a list of candidates, Pictet partner Boris Collardi would likely reach out to.
Raju was previously the APAC Head of Asset and Wealth Management at Deutsche Bank.
