She brings more than 20 years of experience managing a range of investments in global financial hubs, and will help Golden Equator's portfolio companies and in identifying opportunities.
Singapore-based Golden Equator Capital, which specializes in investing in innovative technology companies in Asia, has appointed Pooja Gurbani as a partner for its Venture Investments team, the fund manager announced in a press release on Wednesday.
Gurbani was most recently managing her family office. Prior to that, she helped establish Asian multi-family offices Crossbridge Capital and Fusang, and mentored and invested in successful startups like wealth management platform Canopy and food business Amazin' Graze. She is also an advisor to private equity firm Green Monday Ventures.
In her new role, she will mentor portfolio companies and maintain Golden Equator's strategic partnerships across the innovation and investment communities, the statement said.
Technology and Innovation Fund
Golden Equator Capital runs the S$120 million ($86.82 million) GEC-KIP Technology and Innovation Fund with co-manager Korea Investment Partners. In September, the fund announced a $2.3 million investment in leading Vietnamese proptech Rever and a $2.5 million investment into digital talent agency Gushcloud International.
The fund’s portfolio companies include Indonesia fashion e-commerce platform Sorabel and Singapore property portal Ohmyhome.
