The global investment manager has announced five global leadership appointments to strengthen its operations, following its acquisition by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation.
First State Investments has appointed Rob Scott as its Hong Kong-based chief operating officer (COO), the firm said in a statement on Wednesday, where it also announced four other global leadership appointments.
Scott, who brings more than 25 years’ experience in global business operations and IT, will be responsible for the firm's global operations, IT and data, and will join its executive leadership team.
He was previously head of global operations at Nikko Asset Management in Tokyo and has also held roles at Deutsche Asset Management, BNP Paribas Securities Services, and ABN AMRO Asset Management across Asia, the statement said.
Other Appointments
- Justin Hourigan, global head of data, reporting to COO Rob Scott. He joins from Cover-More, where he was general manager for data, analytics and innovation.
- Lorraine Dryland, chief information security officer. She reports to global head of IT, Kerry McCormack. Dryland brings more than two decades of experience in protecting UK Critical National Infrastructure in the public and private sector.
- Ben Marks, chief audit officer. He is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor with over 30 years’ audit experience in the financial services industry. Marks reports to the Board.
- Adrian Hilderly, head of FSI Ireland. Hilderly will oversee FSI Ireland’s operations, including regulatory interaction and oversight of investment and distribution activities.
