The marketing and communications executive will take on the leadership of the firm's marketing, communication, digital and brand functions globally as it rebrands as First Sentier Investors.

Global investment manager First State Investments has promoted Amanda Tibbett to Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, a Sydney-based role, the firm announced in a statement.

Tibbett, joined First State nine months ago as the global lead for its brand transition, managing the rebrand of First State's business in Australia as First Sentier Investors, which will roll out to other regions later this year. She was previously the head of marketing and digital, Asia Pacific for Fidelity International, where she spent 10 years in various roles. 

The appointment was made to ensure First State delivers consistent brand experiences, enhanced digital interactions and relevant, quality client communication amid its rebranding, First State Investments CEO Mark Steinberg said in the statement.

Americas Leadership Strengthened

At the same time, First State announced the appointment of Bachar Beani as managing director, Americas.

Beaini joined the firm in 2007, holding roles in various regions. He was most recently senior director, institutional business, based in New York, and was appointed to the regional Managing Director role in July 2019 in an acting capacity, responsible for management and coordination of the business in North America as it transitioned in ownership. 

First State manages over $160 billion in client assets, as of end-2019. The firm operates as a standalone business owned and overseen by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
