Hong Kong financial group Sun Hung Kai hires an ex-CITIC CLSA executive to lead its hedge fund allocation business.
Allen Sing was appointed to the role of expanding the firm’s hedge fund research capabilities and assets under management, according to a statement.
Sing is a 19-year veteran in fund of hedge funds and most recently led the global practice for CITIC CLSA.
The firm has also hired ex-CITIC CLSA fund of hedge funds analyst Jonathan Cheung as a research analyst.

According to Lindsay Wright, CEO of SHK funds management, the hires reflect the firm’s «ongoing strategy to build out world-class external asset management capabilities and evolve the in-house investing business to bring in additional assets, revenue streams, and talent through our management of third-party capital.»
According to Wright in a separate interview, Sun Hung Kai was collaborating with fund managers in a variety of ways with an edge over some rival seeders because of its «patient capital».
