China’s Industrial Bank has named the successor to the chair after the role was left vacant for nearly two years.
Lu Jiajin will take on the top role, according to a «Caixin» report citing unnamed sources, pending completion of some final administrative procedures.
Lu was most recently a vice president with China Construction Bank since July 2020 tasked to oversee the retail business.
The role has been vacant since September 2019 when former chairman Gao Jianping retired.
Industrial Bank is China’s second-largest joint-stock bank – behind China Merchants Bank – with 7.89 trillion yuan ($1.23 trillion) in assets.
