Indosuez Wealth Management Acquires Swiss Private Bank
The wealth management arm of Crédit Agricole is expanding its presence in Europe by acquiring a Geneva-based private bank.
Indosuez Wealth Management (WM), the wealth management subsidiary of French Crédit Agricole Group, has agreed to acquire Banque Thaler, the company announced on Friday.
Founded in 1982 and independent since 1999, Banque Thaler managed assets totaling 3,1 billion francs at the end of 2024. Operating profit for 2024 amounted to 1,6 million francs, representing a 4,5 percent increase. Net profit rose by 5,8 percent to 22,96 million francs, according to the bank’s annual report.
Growth Strategy
With this acquisition, Indosuez WM aims to strengthen its position in Switzerland. The firm’s assets under management in the country will rise to almost 50 billion francs.
«Indosuez WM is pursuing its growth strategy in a sector currently undergoing consolidation and is today a key player in wealth management across Europe,» Jacques Prost, CEO of Indosuez WM, said.
Based in Geneva and Zurich
Banque Thaler has offices in Geneva and Zurich. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, and closing is expected in the second half of 2025. No details were disclosed regarding the purchase price.
