The digital wealth manager has made four new senior hires in Singapore amid rapid growth.

Singapore-based Syfe has appointed Samantha Horton as vice president, head of business development, to lead the platform's expansion into new markets in Asia in the next 12–18 months, it announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Horton joins from hedge fund Broad Peak Investment Advisers, which she joined in 2010 and was most recently managing director and co-head of data analytics. She was previously an equity research at Morgan Stanley, covering the Asean financial sector.

Growing Team

The appointment comes on the heels of three other major hires from April to June 2021, which include head of new business Jack Prickett, head of finance Brice Derouet, and head of partnerships Laurens Koppelaar.

Prickett joins after 15 years working UBS in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, where he was most recently the bank's regional head of securities operations.

Derouet previously led the finance team at the co-living operator Hmlet, while Koppelaar was previously CEO of the insurtech company Symbo, and led the market management function for Allianz across the region.

Hong Kong Plans

Syfe has seen increased demand for its investment and financial advisory solutions in recent months, CEO Dhruv Arora said in the announcement.

The next market Syfe will enter is Hong Kong, a spokesperson told finews.asia, saying it is currently building a team and looking for a country GM to lead operations there, and expects to be fully operational in the territory in the next two quarters.

Last month, Syfe announced the close of its Series B funding round, which raised $30 million from Valar Ventures, with participation by existing investors Presight Capital and Unbound.
