A Pictet family member has been named as the Swiss pure-play's new head of human resources for Asia ex-Japan, further strengthening its drive to expand and attract talent in the region, finews.asia has learned.
Grégoire Pictet has been appointed to the newly created role of head of human resources Asia (ex-Japan), effective November 15, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, and tasked with overseeing the regional HR teams across North and South Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, he will report functionally to global head of human resources Christèle Hiss Holliger and locally to Pictet Asset Management’s Asia ex-Japan chief executive Junjie Watkins as well as Asia private wealth management CEO Tee Fong Seng.
Pictet has 10 years of private wealth management experience with the bank and held various senior roles including CEO of the bank and trust unit in the Bahamas as well as CEO of Pictet North America Advisors (PNAA).
He is also the younger cousin of managing partner and sole head of the wealth unit Marc Pictet.
Asia Headcount
Although Pictet has lost several senior bankers in 2021, most notably family office expert Pamela Hsu Phua and former Singapore CEO Dominique Jooris, it continues to expand in the region in recent years.
In Asia, the private wealth headcount of its total employees and relationship managers grew 50 percent and 40 percent in the last three years, respectively, with assets under management increasing 38 percent in the first half this year.
