The U.S. fund manager is expanding its footprint in Asia with the senior hire.
GMO has appointed Amy Shang to its Asia-Pacific client relations team, and she will lead the firm’s business development efforts in Greater China, the Boston-based asset management firm announced on Thursday.
Shang joins the firm from Dimensional Fund Advisors, most recently as regional director for Greater China, based in Hong Kong. She was previously an analyst at Goldman Sachs in Singapore and a financial analyst at IBM, based in Beijing.
Over the past few years, GMO has forged important partnerships with key financial institutions in Asia to make its Quality and Climate Change strategies available to the Asian market. «Adding deep industry experience and talent illustrates our ongoing commitment to this region,» Zane Bernstein, head of Asia-Pacific client relations, said.
