An 18-year veteran and former chief sustainability officer of Credit Suisse has joined Standard Chartered in the same role.
Marisa Drew joins Standard Chartered as its chief sustainability officer (CSO), according to a statement, reporting to Simon Cooper, chief executive of the bank's corporate, commercial and institutional banking (CCIB) unit.
In her new role, Drew will chair the group’s sustainability forum, drive its net-zero commitments, oversee the existing sustainable finance and sustainability strategy teams as well as join the CCIB management team.
After 18 Years at Credit Suisse
«We’ve made great progress on our sustainability agenda and on building a leading sustainable finance franchise,» said Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters. «We are gearing up to push ahead even faster to deliver on this critical pillar of our strategy, and we’re very pleased that [Drew] is joining us to spearhead that effort.»
Drew joins from Credit Suisse where she spent 18 years, last as its CSO and global head of the sustainability strategy, advisory & finance group.
Replaced by Emma Crystal
Previously, she was also co-head of investment banking and capital markets for EMEA as well as global co-head of the global market solutions group. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, she worked for Merrill Lynch and Kidder Peabody.
Drew remains with Credit Suisse as CSO until the end of February, as planned, to assist with the transition and handover to her replacement, Emma Crystal.
