London-based fintech firm Wise is expanding in Singapore with plans to hire 150 roles this year.
After relocating to a larger space last year, Wise’s Singapore office plans to add 150 employees this year, according to a statement.
The hires will include engineering, product development, design, analytics, compliance, payments and other operational roles.
APAC Expansion
In addition to Singapore, where the firm was the first non-bank financial institution to integrate with the local real-time payment system FAST, Wise has also been expanding elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region.
It was the first fintech in Australia to gain approval to join the NPP (New Payments Platform) as a direct participant. It also recently launched its low-cost, fast transfer offering in India and the Wise Account and edit card in Malaysia.
«We've come a long way from the one-man office we were when we first launched the country five years ago,» said chief executive and co-founder Kristo Käärmann.
«Our Singapore office has since grown into a key hub for us and I'm delighted by the progress we've made in serving our customers both here in Singapore and across the region.»
