U.S.-listed Fiserv has named Mi Ryung (Miriam) Park, a former UnionPay International executive, as its general manager for South Korea.
Park was previously at UnionPay International as chief representative for Korea and Mongolia, where she led the North Asia card-issuing business, Finserv said in a press release Monday. She was also previously at UnionPay International in North America, and at BC Card and Visa in leadership and business development roles, the release said.
In South Korea, Finserv provides payment services to merchant via Carat, a global system for transactions using any device and any payment method, the release said. Fiserv also provides payment services, including MoneyOn and FirstPay, for online and offline payments, the release said.
Ivo Distelbrink, executive vice president and head of Asia Pacific at Fiserv, said in the statement that Park would drive the company’s digital innovation strategy in South Korea as it expands beyond traditional payment services.
