Zurich-headquartered insurer Swiss Re has hired a former AIG executive as its new chief executive for Greater China.
Jeffrey Pan joins Swiss Re as its Greater China CEO, according to a statement, effective April 11.
In his new role, Pan will be based in Shanghai and also become a member of the corporate solutions APAC executive team.
Pan joins from AIG where he spent 17 years, most recently as general manager of AIG International Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Previously, he also worked at Berkshire Hathaway-owned Gen Re and PICC.
«[Pan] has extensive experience working in multi-cultural MNC environments within China,» said Swiss Re’s Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Rake. «The combination of his commercial and consumer insurance experience as well as digital distribution expertise saw him as an ideal candidate for the role.»
