The former deputy president of OCBC has joined the board of Singapore-based Mapletree Logistics Trust.

Ching Wei Hong joins Mapletree Logistics Trust's (MLT) board as an independent non-executive director and a member of the trust’s audit and risk committee, according to a statement, effective April 1. 

Ching is a banking veteran in Singapore, retiring last year from his most recent role in the sector as deputy president of OCBC which he joined in 1999. Previously, he also held other top roles including chairman of Bank of Singapore, chairman of OCBC Securities and vice chairman of Lion Global Investors. 

MLT is a Singapore-based REIT and as of end-September last year, its portfolio had 163 properties with a total of S$10.8 billion ($7.9 billion) in assets under management.
