Orchard Global Asset Management has named a veteran of Barclays Capital as the head of client solutions for its new South Korea office.

Danny Jeon has joined Orchard Global Asset Management for the newly opened liaison office in Seoul, South Korea, as an executive director to lead client solutions, the asset manager said in a statement Thursday.

He will be responsible for accelerating the company’s investment in Asia, the release said, noting the firm has had a presence in Singapore for more than 10 years. Jeon will work with the global team to target institutional investors in South Korea, the release said. He will report to Jason Tan, who is head of Asia Pacific in Singapore, and to David Burke, who is global head of distribution and investor relations in New York, the release said.

Jeon was the director for Korea Institutional Sales at MUFG Securities Asia from mid-2019 to mid-2021, according to his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he was an investment banker for Barclays Capital in Hong Kong and Seoul, the release said. Jeon has also held positions at Citigroup and Fidelity International, the release said.

Texas-based Orchard Global is an alternative asset manager in special opportunity lending, structured credit, and public and private fixed-income assets; it had around US$7.6 billion in assets under management as of end-March.
