Credit Suisse has made a series of new appointments for the top management positions within its investment banking and capital markets unit, finews.asia has learned.
Zeth Hung has been named vice chairman of APAC investment banking and capital markets (IBCM), according to an internal note seen by finews.asia, reporting to global head of IBCM David Miller.
Hung is a longstanding Credit Suisse banker after first joining the Swiss lender in 1998. He was most recently the co-head of IBCM, a role he held since 2018.
IBCM Promotions
Alongside current APAC chief executive Edwin Low, the two APAC IBCM co-heads were promoted to the new positions, effective June 1. They are succeeded by Kuan Ern Tan and Joe Lai who have a reporting line to Miller as well as a dotted regional reporting line to Low.
Based in Singapore, Tan joined Credit Suisse in 2010 from J.P. Morgan. Hong Kong-based Lai joined the Swiss bank in 2014 and will retain his title as co-head of real estate APAC alongside Angelo Scasserra.
In addition, the note also included the appointment of Rehan Anwer as CEO Southeast Asia, also reporting to Low, while retaining his role as head of IBCM Southeast Asia. He joined Credit Suisse in early 2007 after almost 10 years at Deutsche Bank covering various APAC markets.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the note.
