Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of a chief investment officer for Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Standard Chartered names Manpreet Gill as its CIO for Africa, Middle East and Europe (AMEE), according to a statement. Based in Dubai, Gill reports to group CIO Steve Brice and will retain his current role as head of the CIO office’s fixed income, currency and commodity (FICC) strategy.
Gill has 18 years of financial experience including more than a decade at Standard Chartered. Previously, he also worked at Barclays' wealth unit as its Asia strategist and Indian lender ICICI as its FX strategist.
«[Gill] has honed his expertise during the last 10 years with our wealth management CIO team,» Brice said. «Having a senior and experienced member of the CIO team based in the AMEE region will enrich client conversations, adding significant value to our business.»
