HSBC has reportedly hired a former Goldman Sachs executive to lead its global banking unit for North Asia.

HSBC has named Christina Ma as head of global banking for North Asia, according to a «Reuters» report citing an internal memo. Based in Hong Kong, Ma will start her new role in the first quarter of 2023.

Ma replaces Dai Kitamura who will leave HSBC on November 1 after 27 years with the bank. Kitamura was serving in the role on an interim basis before taking extended leave earlier this year

Ma joins from Goldman Sachs where she spent 21 years, last as a partner and head of Greater China equities.
