Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of a new global head of payments.

David Rego has been named global head of payments, transaction banking at Standard Chartered, according to a statement, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, he reports to Philip Panaino, global head of cash, transaction banking.

Rego will continue in his current role as global head of liquidity, deposits and escrow solutions, with a successor to be announced in due course.

Rego has over 25 years of cash and liquidity management experience across product, technology and operations. He joined Standard Chartered in 2007 and prior to his current role, he was the global head of cash product development and regional cash product head for Africa.
