The Royal Bank of Canada's wealth arm has lost its head of sales for Asia following a one-year stint.

Nick Chan has left RBC Wealth Management, sources told finews.asia, after one year with the Canadian private bank. He first joined RBC Wealth Management in December 2021 as its head of private banking for North Asia before taking on the additional role of head of sales for Asia in May 2022.

Chan is a wealth management veteran with nearly 30 years of banking experience. Prior to his role at RBC, he spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley’s wealth business, including as its head of Southeast Asia private banking. Previously, he also worked at Goldman Sachs for eight years.

Interim Replacement

Meanwhile, Chan’s role will be held by RBC Wealth Management’s Asia head Terence Chow in the interim.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the moves.
