A former Credit Suisse executive is reportedly joining Mumbai-based Axis Bank to lead its research division.
Credit Suisse co-head of APAC strategy Neelkanth Mishra has resigned, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing unnamed sources, and is set to join India’s Axis Bank to lead its research department.
Mishra spent 20 years at Credit Suisse, including as the head of research at the bank's India unit. He is also part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council.
Growth Plans
Axis is steadily growing its business in India across wealth management and investment banking.
Fellow Credit Suisse colleague and head of India equity research Ashish Gupta joined Axis Mutual Fund as chief investment officer, according to an exchange filing earlier in March. The Mumbai-based lender also completed a $1.4 billion acquisition of Citi's local retail business in the same month.
