HSBC Reassigns Asia Wealth Head
London-based HSBC’s top wealth banker in Asia has been resigned to a new role in mainland China.
HSBC has appointed Kai Zhang as the acting head of international wealth and premier banking (IWPB), according to a «Reuters» report citing a company memo. Effective May 1, Zhang will relocate from Singapore to Shanghai to take on the new role in addition to her existing role as Asia head of IWPB.
Current China head of IWPB Trista Sun will become managing director for strategic projects at IWPB. In the newly created role, she will manage projects critical to accelerating the delivery of IWPB's growth agenda, including boosting cross-border customer acquisition and capturing fund flows. She will relocate from Shanghai to Hong Kong and report to global wealth head Barry O’Byrne.
