Hong Kong-based private investment office 3 Capital Partners has announced the appointment of a chief operating officer.
3 Capital Partners appoints Jonathan Shelley as chief operating officer and general counsel, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to co-founder and CEO Alex Yu.
In the role, he will be responsible for executing business strategy, overseeing operations, overseeing legal and compliance functions, and streamlining systems and processes to accelerate growth in Asia. He will also be key in structuring the firm’s private equity investment program.
Prior to the appointment, Shelley worked at Allen & Overy specializing in private equity fund formation and investments, including in secondary transactions. He also spent 13 years at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in Shanghai, London and Hong Kong.

According to Yu, Shelley will also leverage his experience from working with private equity leaders.
