J.P. Morgan Private Bank appoints Paul Thompson as head of Singapore and Southeast Asia, sources told finews.asia. He will soon relocate to Singapore from Hong Kong for the role and report to Asia chief executive Kam Shing Kwang.

Thompson is currently head of Hong Kong and the Philippines (HKP) at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. He joined JPMorgan in 2000 before moving to the private banking unit in 2004 as a portfolio analyst. Prior to his current role, he also headed the investment team for HKP and was a team lead for sponsors for the Philippines and Thailand markets.

Predecessor

Thompson succeeds James Wey who will stay with the firm until September to ensure a smooth transition.
