HSBC has appointed a consultancy veteran and former KPMG partner as a member of its board.
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation has appointed Paul Jeremy Brough as an independent non-executive director, according to a statement. He will also join as a member of the bank’s audit committee and risk committee.
Previously, Brough worked at KPMG Hong Kong for nearly 30 years before leaving the firm in 2012 as senior regional partner. Brough also has extensive board experience in the past decade across multiple industries. He is currently an independent non-executive director at Guoco Group, Toshiba, Vitasoy and more.
«[Brough’s] long history of financial advisory experience, coupled with his expertise in driving good corporate governance, setting good risk management frameworks, and managing strategic operational issues, brings valuable assets to the board as we continue to drive our strategies forward,» said board chairman Peter Wong.
