Canada’s RBC Wealth Management has named an interim head for Asia, following the recent departure of Terence Chow, finews.asia has learned.

Rod Ireland has been appointed interim head, RBC Wealth Management, Asia, according to a statement in response to a finews.asia inquiry, replacing Terence Chow, who recently left the bank. Based in Singapore, Ireland will also retain his existing role as head of global markets APAC for RBC Capital Markets.

According to the bank, RBC Wealth Management's leadership team in the region remains in place. It includes Iggy Chong, head, enterprise strategic clients and interim market head, Greater China; Vivian Kiang, head of wealth planning and fiduciary services, RBC WM Asia; Juan Aronna, head, investment solutions and products, RBC WM Asia; and Kamran Azim, COO, RBC WM Asia.

«RBC continues to focus on growing its wealth management business in Asia, including bringing in talent across front office and investment teams,» the Canadian lender added.
