Zurich-headquartered EFG has hired a handful of new private bankers for the Greater China market, including several former Credit Suisse executives.
EFG has announced eight new appointments to its Hong Kong office with a focus on the Greater China market, according to a statement. Steven Li (15 years of experience), Melissa Lau (over 20 years), Sarah Tan (24 years), Karson Chu (over 15 years) and Elsie Wang join as the bank as client relationship officers led by Greater China market group head Philip Cheung.
Li was most recently working at Chinese investment bank CICC as an executive director. The other new hires all join from fallen Swiss lender Credit Suisse, which is currently undergoing integration with UBS.
Other Hires
The bank also welcomes ex-Credit Suisse executive Loretta Chim (17 years of private banking experience), ex-BNP Paribas executive Flora So (almost 30 years) and ex-Bank of Singapore executive Daphne Chen (over 15 years) to the Hong Kong team.

«The strategic expansion of our Hong Kong team with the hiring of seasoned specialists focused on the Greater China market demonstrates our commitment to further enhancing our offering in order to meet the evolving needs of existing and prospective clients,» said Albert Chiu, EFG Bank’s APAC executive chairman.
