The commercial banking arm of Citibank has hired a former OCBC executive to lead its Indonesia business.

Edwin Pribadi has been appointed as head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) for Indonesia, according to a statement. In the role, he will oversee all of CCB’s business and operations in Indonesia and is responsible for driving business strategy and financial performance, including the deepening of client relationships.

Pribadi returns to Citi after starting his career with the bank’s regional management technology leadership development program in Shanghai in 2006. He was also previously trade and tax operation unit head as well as commercial banking relationship manager team leader at Citi. He rejoins from OCBC where he worked since 2013, most recently as enterprise banking business head.

«Indonesia remains an important market to Citi given its prominence within Southeast Asia and its strategic ties with other countries in the region,» commented Gunjan Kalra, head of CCB for Asia North, Australia & Asia South. «We’re witnessing the emergence of numerous mid-sized companies in Indonesia, having the vision to expand their presence regionally and even globally.»
