The private banking arm of Crédit Agricole has announced the appointment of a new Hong Kong branch chief.

Indosuez Wealth Management has appointed Michaël Kofman as CEO and Hong Kong branch manager, according to a statement, effective September 1 and subject to the approval of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. In the role, he will report to Asia CEO Omar Shokur.

Kofman has nearly 30 years of experience in financial services and first joined Crédit Agricole in 2002, including 13 years with Indosuez. He was most recently the wealth manager’s Geneva-based head of structuring and financing, covering the teams in Switzerland and Asia. Previously, he also worked for eight years at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, where he was the regional head of internal audit in Japan.

Predecessor

Kofman will relocate from Geneva to Hong Kong, succeeding Olivier Livenais who has been in the role since early 2020.

«We are delighted to welcome Michaël as the incoming leader of our Hong Kong Branch. His extensive experience and proven leadership at Indosuez, particularly in driving growth and credit as well as compliance initiatives, makes him ideal for leading our Hong Kong teams,» Shokur said.
